Septemberfest :)

The article about the “Septemberfest” first caught my eye, when I heard it happened in Oklahoma, because that’s where I’m born. A lot of people think Oklahoma is a little, boring hillbilly state, but they are wrong. The Septemberfest is a big socially wide thing, and I think that this main event just proves that Oklahoma is more great then what people say. At the Septemberfest there are many things to do, for example, ride a horse, crack a whip, eat some good country food, learn about Oklahoma’s history, and so much more! I remember I went to the outing a long time ago when I was about six. I thought it was so much fun, because I won the potato-sack race, and I got to take home a silky blue ribbon, and I even got to milk a cow. Also when I was there, I remember learning so much about Oklahoma’s heritage. Like how in the olden days they used to use alcohol to cure wounds, and as well, I learned how cowboys had two kinds of rope, in which were best used in different conditions. Grass rope worked better in wet conditions and rawhide ropes were less desirable to use in wet conditions because they would stretch out and break. However, rawhide ropes could hold strong when dry. When I was a bit younger, I would wish I was a cowgirl because I would love to ride my grandmas horses, and I loved rodeos, and I would admire all the barrel racing people. I really admire Oklahoma and this fun activity for its good welcoming attitude.

Mama Spears Tells All

I read an article called “Britney’s mom tells all” from world news. Apparently this morning Britney Spears mom, Lynne, was on the “Today’s Show” presenting her new book called “Through the Storm.” Is about raising Britney and all the struggles they have been through. She says that the life of a pop star has two sides, one, all the fame, money, and popularity. Then the bad side, the tabloids, the scandals, and all the drama. In Britney’s life many things have happened from, kissing other women, having kids, getting her kids taken away from her, to even shaving her head! So far her life has been very shaky. Britney used to be my inspiration; believe it or not, she used to be a good girl. But ever since she hit her teenage years, her career has gone right down the toilet! I mean what happened? She’s been performing all her life and all the sudden she changes? I wonder if things would be different if she wasn’t famous, or had a father figure in her life? At one point in time, she was even doing porn. I think maybe her mom dropped her on her head when she was a baby, I don’t know but she is not the same as she used to be. Also her changing meant some of her die-heart fans would be influenced by her! That is not good at all. I think that if you are going to be that out of line, then you shouldn’t be able to be on television. What is the world coming to? Everywhere you look its Britney spears gone wild, I mean we see her everywhere, television, magazines, it’s all about Britney! But I would say that the biggest shock is when she shaved her head! What was she even thinking?! In fact a movie just came out that mocks her. But through all of these times I wonder how she feels? She’s practically a disgrace! I would be really sad if so many people thought that way about me. But in a long run it truly is her own fault. She should have thought about the consequences before making her actions. In my future I hopefully want to be a singer or actress, but seeing some of these pop disasters makes me think twice, for example, Michel Jackson, Lindsey Lohan, and so many more. If I ever become famous, I will never do anything even drastically close to Britney’s so called “choices.” She’s a celebrity for heaven sakes, people are going to be watching every move she makes. Her mom says that the tabloids are throwing things way out of proportion! I somewhat agree but they can’t be making it all up. There is some truth there. I think Lynne does not want people to think she is a bad parent so she feels like she needs a cover story. I think Britney needs to grow up and stop getting involved with all the drama, besides it’s like so last year! Sometime in the future there is bound to be another “Britney.”

education:)

After reading Mr.Fischs article on “cell phones for work” I found it very interesting all the technology we are now capable of. It’s funny because students at Arapahoe are not allowed to use cellular devices in class, but at some works, it’s almost required. Now day’s people can even access the internet and surf the web on phones. If we have this much great technology now, I wonder where we will be 20 years from now. I bet people will even be flying to work! Scientist create different things and do experiments every day. They’re eventually bound to discover a new great source. Take for example the magnificent iPod. Almost everybody I know has one. Some can hold thousands of songs, but I bet in the future there will be something even better. Things these days are getting very pricy, so I bet it won’t be cheap! Right now scientist are inventing on chargeable cars, which will soon be going on the market. I think that the new cars will be great for the economy since we are running low on oil. As you can see this world revolves around different ideas, like I don’t know where I would be without my handy dandy cell phone. I believe that is world’s most precious invention. I don’t go anywhere without it! And with my cell phone also gives me my parents trust, because they can call me anytime to find out where I am or what I’m doing. With my phone, I’m aloud to go many more places that I wouldn’t be able to without it. One of the best reasons to have a phone is for safety issues. For example, one time my mom and I were at the mall, shopping for the busy holiday season, there were a lot of people. Then before I knew it I was lost, but all I had to do was call my mom! The global world is growing so fast we don’t even know. Stop. Think. Learn. Develop.

Local News :)

When reading about the Cross-Dressing Bandit, I found it very interesting. Basically the paragraph is about a man who robbed a Chicago Bank, dressed as a woman! He was wearing a big, bright sun hat with a lovely pink and black dress to match. He accessorized by having long white gloves and a shiny silver hand gun. (What a fashion statement.) I think he is quite a character, because he might as well just rob the bank looking like himself. The police will find him anyway so there is simply no point in looking that ridiculous. When people steal, and rob banks, they’re just asking for trouble. I mean, sure, they will have money. But the consequences are way worse, because instead of enjoying their nice wad of cash, they will be in prison, doing time. And they will have to give all their money back. So tell me, what’s the point? Don’t they get it? And on the slim chance they don’t get caught, the police will still be looking for him, and the search will not be over until they find him! Somehow he managed to escape, but that means that the rest of his life he will always have to be on the lookout and extremely careful not to get caught. I suggest that he get a job, because if he wasn’t so lazy, he would have enough money, and would not need to rob a bank. Once I was visiting my grandparents in a really ghetto neiborhood. I was nine years old at the time, and very stupid because some of the older trashy kids convinced me to walk up to the local convenient store, and steal them candy. At the time I thought they were so cool because they were teenagers, so I decided I would. Right when I walked into the gas station, I started cramming candy down my shit, in my pockets, and anywhere else I could. Turns out the lady who worked there was watching me on the video camera the whole time. She walked over to me, started yelling, and then practically dragged me to the front counter. Then she told me she was going to call the cops. By that time I was balling my little head off, begging her not to, literally on my knees. Thankfully, she ended up not making the dreadful call. Life lesson learned! I was so relived, mainly that she did not tell my parents as long as I never went in her store ever again. I couldn’t sleep that night from all the guilt. And still to this day my parents don’t know. Crime is a horrible thing to be in. I really wish that the bank robber didn’t screw up his life. Sorry bud. To late.
