Black is Black.

Congratulations! Congratulations! Have you heard? Barack Obama is the first black president. While some say he won’t make the right choices, I disagree. I think he will be a great president because he is smart, honest, and he has a way with the people! I think those are three very important qualities to have. In the old days, people would have found it just absurd to have a black president. I am glad we are over that. Because I think racism is just ridiculous. Black or white, short or tall, we are all the same, and that’s how it should be. Don’t agree? Then move to Canada, because here in American we are all equal. It is time to make a change, so wake up, and smell the coffee. And maybe someday, just someday, the economy will change, and even teenagers will be able to vote! Ha-ha yeah right. But I do still have one question. Hey….maybe you could even answer it for me! If Obama’s already the next president, then what is the point in being all cynical, and grumpy about it? Quit whipersnapping and look on the bright side of things. Okay sure…you might have wanted McCain to win but it’s over now, so let’s make the best of what we’ve got. Now am I right? Yeah I know I am. Let’s make this one heck of a good year.

Just an every day hero?

Imagine this, you go to tuck your little boy into bed, but you can’t find him anywhere! He is gone, nowhere to be seen. Well this really happened. Recently in Las Vegas, a boy was abducted then found by a local bus driver. What great luck! To me that bus driver is such a hero. I guess the boy was taken at gunpoint by two men posed as policemen. Then after a few days they let him go. The bus driver saw a little boy walking late at night, so he stopped and asked him if he was okay. The boy then told him what happened, and he got taken home, back in his parents care. At times like these it really makes you think. I wonder why they needed the little boy. What did they do to him? Why did they let him go? What were his parents thinking? I know that if my child was kidnapped, I would freak out and do everything in my power to get him back. That would be absolutely horrible. I mean, what kind of person kidnappes someone. That is an awful thing to do. I would never be able to forgive myself. And think of all the people you would be hurting! This can be such a cruel, cruel, world. If people keep doing crime, it makes you think….What is this world coming to?

Donkey vs. Elephant

I got assigned a simple assignment. To write a paper on the upcoming election. So as I sit here, at my desk, coffee in hand, I observe that there are hardly any topics about Obama. They are all about McCain. I speculate why? But a good number of the articles about McCain are all bad. Talking about how he “backs out on Michigan.” For my part, I don’t think our future president should be a coward, and should not give up on that state just because he is falling behind. In my eyes, a president would take charge, battle, and do whatever is necessary to win. I like Obama, I think he is a bona fide leader, and would make the perfect president……wait, wait, wait, I’m sorry, I forgot I was writing about McCain. Oh yeah! So, as I was saying, I don’t think McCain would be an absolutely dire president. One of the reasons I believe that is because he is a Christian. I think that Christianity is an important thing to win an election. Once you have God and the people on your side then its gold. But at the same time be hurting him since religion is a major controversy, there are many types of religious, therefore different opinions. Well folks its republican vs. democrat. The choice is yours.

Lies, Lies, There all Lies!

Government Secretes. Okay are you interested? Well you should be. Did you know that everything that happens, whether it’s a local shooting, or even about the wars in Iraq, the government hides some details? Like when we watch an intriguing story on the news, it’s actually not the full story. Do you want the full scoop? To darn bad. Because unless you work in a government agency, the odds are, you won’t find out the whole truth. Scandalous? Yeah, you might think so, but they have every right to do so. In my personal opinion, I believe that they shouldn’t leave anything out. In all fairness, why do they get to know but we don’t? It just doesn’t seem fair! Listen, I’m a big believer in phenomenon; I was heartbroken when I was not able to uncover the truth about what really happened in Roswell New Mexico. Aliens just fascinate me, and I kept hearing different versions of the truth. And sometimes the government changes the story completely, and just knocks it way out of proportion. It’s ridiculous. They have also stretched the truth about what happens in war. If one of my relatives were at battle, I would be pretty upset if I heard lies about what really happened in war. I would be worried, that something has gone wrong at the battle field. All people should be able to know what’s happening. That is the point of watching the news. Okay now everybody; hold your horses, its metaphor time! Let’s say that your mom, made you this smelly dinner, but she would not tell you what’s in it, but you had to eat it anyway. Now relate that to what stories we are being fed, but we don’t know what their made up of. Secrets are secrets, give it up, someone will eventually find out!

Septemberfest :)

The article about the “Septemberfest” first caught my eye, when I heard it happened in Oklahoma, because that’s where I’m born. A lot of people think Oklahoma is a little, boring hillbilly state, but they are wrong. The Septemberfest is a big socially wide thing, and I think that this main event just proves that Oklahoma is more great then what people say. At the Septemberfest there are many things to do, for example, ride a horse, crack a whip, eat some good country food, learn about Oklahoma’s history, and so much more! I remember I went to the outing a long time ago when I was about six. I thought it was so much fun, because I won the potato-sack race, and I got to take home a silky blue ribbon, and I even got to milk a cow. Also when I was there, I remember learning so much about Oklahoma’s heritage. Like how in the olden days they used to use alcohol to cure wounds, and as well, I learned how cowboys had two kinds of rope, in which were best used in different conditions. Grass rope worked better in wet conditions and rawhide ropes were less desirable to use in wet conditions because they would stretch out and break. However, rawhide ropes could hold strong when dry. When I was a bit younger, I would wish I was a cowgirl because I would love to ride my grandmas horses, and I loved rodeos, and I would admire all the barrel racing people. I really admire Oklahoma and this fun activity for its good welcoming attitude.

Mama Spears Tells All

I read an article called “Britney’s mom tells all” from world news. Apparently this morning Britney Spears mom, Lynne, was on the “Today’s Show” presenting her new book called “Through the Storm.” Is about raising Britney and all the struggles they have been through. She says that the life of a pop star has two sides, one, all the fame, money, and popularity. Then the bad side, the tabloids, the scandals, and all the drama. In Britney’s life many things have happened from, kissing other women, having kids, getting her kids taken away from her, to even shaving her head! So far her life has been very shaky. Britney used to be my inspiration; believe it or not, she used to be a good girl. But ever since she hit her teenage years, her career has gone right down the toilet! I mean what happened? She’s been performing all her life and all the sudden she changes? I wonder if things would be different if she wasn’t famous, or had a father figure in her life? At one point in time, she was even doing porn. I think maybe her mom dropped her on her head when she was a baby, I don’t know but she is not the same as she used to be. Also her changing meant some of her die-heart fans would be influenced by her! That is not good at all. I think that if you are going to be that out of line, then you shouldn’t be able to be on television. What is the world coming to? Everywhere you look its Britney spears gone wild, I mean we see her everywhere, television, magazines, it’s all about Britney! But I would say that the biggest shock is when she shaved her head! What was she even thinking?! In fact a movie just came out that mocks her. But through all of these times I wonder how she feels? She’s practically a disgrace! I would be really sad if so many people thought that way about me. But in a long run it truly is her own fault. She should have thought about the consequences before making her actions. In my future I hopefully want to be a singer or actress, but seeing some of these pop disasters makes me think twice, for example, Michel Jackson, Lindsey Lohan, and so many more. If I ever become famous, I will never do anything even drastically close to Britney’s so called “choices.” She’s a celebrity for heaven sakes, people are going to be watching every move she makes. Her mom says that the tabloids are throwing things way out of proportion! I somewhat agree but they can’t be making it all up. There is some truth there. I think Lynne does not want people to think she is a bad parent so she feels like she needs a cover story. I think Britney needs to grow up and stop getting involved with all the drama, besides it’s like so last year! Sometime in the future there is bound to be another “Britney.”

education:)

After reading Mr.Fischs article on “cell phones for work” I found it very interesting all the technology we are now capable of. It’s funny because students at Arapahoe are not allowed to use cellular devices in class, but at some works, it’s almost required. Now day’s people can even access the internet and surf the web on phones. If we have this much great technology now, I wonder where we will be 20 years from now. I bet people will even be flying to work! Scientist create different things and do experiments every day. They’re eventually bound to discover a new great source. Take for example the magnificent iPod. Almost everybody I know has one. Some can hold thousands of songs, but I bet in the future there will be something even better. Things these days are getting very pricy, so I bet it won’t be cheap! Right now scientist are inventing on chargeable cars, which will soon be going on the market. I think that the new cars will be great for the economy since we are running low on oil. As you can see this world revolves around different ideas, like I don’t know where I would be without my handy dandy cell phone. I believe that is world’s most precious invention. I don’t go anywhere without it! And with my cell phone also gives me my parents trust, because they can call me anytime to find out where I am or what I’m doing. With my phone, I’m aloud to go many more places that I wouldn’t be able to without it. One of the best reasons to have a phone is for safety issues. For example, one time my mom and I were at the mall, shopping for the busy holiday season, there were a lot of people. Then before I knew it I was lost, but all I had to do was call my mom! The global world is growing so fast we don’t even know. Stop. Think. Learn. Develop.
